12 principles of Attitudinal Healing

Following the 12 principles to change ones' attitude is a process, not a quick fix. It becomes a way of life that can eventually bring peace of mind. When one becomes judgmental or is in crisis, is the moment to review the principles and apply them.
Based on A Course In Miracles  written by Gerald Jampolsky.

1 The essence of our being is love.
2 Health is inner peace. Healing is letting go of fear.
3 Giving and receiving are the same.
4 We can let go of the past and of the future.
5 Now is the only time there is and each instant is for giving.
6 We can learn to love ourselves and others by forgiving rather than judging.
7 We can become love finders rather than fault finders.
8 We can choose and direct ourselves to be peaceful inside regardless of what is happening outside.
9 We are students and teachers of each other.
10 We can focus on the whole of life rather than the fragments.
11 Since love is eternal death need not be viewed as fearful.
12 We can always perceive ourselves and others as either extending love or giving a call for help.

The balloon´s morning and rainbow's evening sky

The dishonesty of the media.

John Swinton, the former Chief of Staff at the New York Times ( it's worth noting that Swinton was called "The Dean of His Profession" by other newsmen, who admired him greatly) made this candid confession :

" There is no such thing,
at this date of the world's history,
as an
independent press.
You know it and I know it.
There is not one of you
who dares
to write your honest opinions,
and if you did,
you know
beforehand
that it would never appear in print.
I am paid weekly for

keeping my honest opinions
out of the paper
I am connected with.
Others
of you are paid similar salaries
for similar things,
and any of you who
would be so foolish
as to write honest opinions would be out
on the
streets looking for another job.

If I allowed my honest opinions
to appear in one issue of my paper,

before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
The business of
the journalist is to destroy the truth;
to lie outright; to pervert; to
vilify;
to fawn at the feet of mammon,
and to sell the country for his
daily bread.
You know it and I know it
and what folly is this toasting
an independent press.
We are the tools and vassals
of the rich men
behind the scenes.
We are the jumping jacks,
they pull the strings and
we dance.
Our talents, our possibilities and our lives
are all the
property of other men.
We are intellectual prostitutes. "

What is happiness?

This is a question that has not bothered me for a long time, precisely because I don’t know how to answer it.

I am not the only one. Through all these years I have lived with all sorts of people: rich and poor, powerful and mediocre. In the eyes of all who have crossed my path – and here I include warriors and wise men, people who should have nothing to complain about - I have always found that there was something missing.

Some people seem to be happy: they just do not think about it. Others make plans: “I’m going to have a husband, a home, two children, and a house in the country”. While this keeps them occupied, they are like bulls looking for the bullfighter: they don’t think, they just keep moving forward. They manage to get their car - sometimes even a Ferrari – and they think that the meaning of life lies there, so they never ask the question. Yet, despite all that, their eyes betray a sadness that they themselves are quite unaware of.

I don’t know if everyone is unhappy. I do know that people are always busy: working overtime, looking after the kids, the husband, the career, the university degree, what to do tomorrow, what they need to buy, whatever it is they need to have in order not to feel inferior, and so on.

Few people have ever told me: “I’m unhappy”. Most say: “I’m fine, I’ve managed to get all I ever wanted”.

So then I ask: “What makes you happy?”

They answer: “I have everything that a person can dream of – a family, a home, work, good health”.

I ask again: “Have you ever stopped to wonder if that is all there is to life?”

They answer: “Yes, that’s all there is”.

I insist: “So the meaning of life is work, the family, children who grow up and leave you, a wife or husband who will become more like a friend than a true love-mate. And one day the work will come to an end. What will you do when that happens?”

They answer: there is no answer. They change the subject. But there is always something hidden there: the owner of a firm who has still to close the deal he has always dreamed of, the housewife who would like to have more independence or more money, the new graduate who wonders whether he has chosen his career or has had it chosen for him, the dentist who wanted to be a singer, the singer who wanted to be a politician, the politician who wanted to be a writer, and the writer who wanted to be a peasant.

In this street where I am sit writing this column and looking at the people passing by, I bet that everyone is feeling the same thing. That elegant woman who has just walked by spends her days trying to stop time, controlling the bathroom scales, because she thinks love depends on that. On the other side of the street I see a couple with two children. They live moments of intense happiness when they go out with their kids, but at the same time their subconscious is busy thinking about the job they might not get, the tragedies that might occur, how to get over them, how to protect themselves from the world.

I leaf through magazines filled with famous people: everybody laughing, everybody very happy. But since this is a segment of society that I am quite familiar with, I know it is not like that: everyone is laughing or enjoying themselves at the moment that photo is taken, but at night, or in the morning, the story is always quite different. “What can I do to keep on appearing in the magazine?”, “how can I disguise not having enough money to afford all this luxury?” or “how can I manage this life of splendor to make it even more luxurious, more expressive than other people’s?”, “the actress whom I am seen with in this photo, laughing and having a great time, she could steal my part tomorrow!”, or “I wonder if my clothes are nicer than hers. Why do we smile so much if we loathe one another?”

To end, I recall the words of Jorge Luis Borges: “I will not be happy any more, but that doesn’t matter, / there are many other things in this world”.

Do not doubt the search

Sri Ramakrishna tells of a man who was just about to cross a river when the teacher Bibhishana approached him, wrote a name on a piece of paper, fixed it to the man's back and said:

'Fear not. Your faith will help you to walk upon the waters. But the moment you lose your faith, you will drown.'

The man trusted Bibhishana and began to walk effortlessly across the waters. At one point, however, he had an immense desire to know what his teacher had written on the piece of paper fixed to his back.

He got hold of it and read what was written on it: 'Oh God Rama, help this man to cross the river.'

'Is that all?' thought the man. 'Who is this god Rama anyway?'

As soon as doubt entered his mind, he went under and was drowned.

It´s Monday! Begin it now!

"Begin it now! Just get started! Take action!"
This words I found, this words I want to share with my friends.
How easy words and understandable advises!
Many times we are so unhappy , we could not how to move.
We take always aside our ideas, our intentions to change our life to follow our goals.
Always we persuading ourselves that tomorrow, for sure tomorrow we will start...
and tomorrow we again will hesitate, and again will find obstacles why we cannot start and so we will take away a change again and again and again !
We using to use the saying : " who want looks for ways, who do not want looks for reasons".
Yes really if I want something to do, if I want something reach I have to looking for all ways how to do it. Only who don't thinks his intention really seriously sees in all little particles unconquerable obstruction and first as he does first step towards his target he gives up with words: I wanted do it, but I couldn't..." No this is no way! If we want something do we have to do it now! Just in this while!
And not afraid before obstacles, not afraid before the falls, before mistakes. " With mistakes the man learn" this saying we also using to use:)
And one more thought from the book "Begin it now!" written by Susan Haywood.

Susan says

” Begin It Now is about living your life to the ultimate: taking your ideas and aspirations, acting on them, seeing then through to success, and not giving up when the quest gets challenging.”

Now it is time to start and keep doing daily actions the move me towards my goals....

all around is in motion

.....all khaki coloured I was this morning, when I awoken and started on usually morning walk with my dog Danny.Even this colour is used mostly by army it is also a colour of nature and colour od freedom.
This is the reason I like such coloured the wear mainly on my walks in the nature, to be less remarkable.

Yesterday enough long I watched TV so this almost caused that I passed my friends with them we used be together almost every morning. We and our dogs, or rather I will use another name for them- "our four-footed friends" .

I and my friends are usually talking and picking over and over all the news we heard or experienced last day, or remembering on things which happened in the past, or complaining if something is bad, or giving each other advises how to change bad things, bad life events and so...
Our four-footed friends -companions in the meantime do their necessities, chasing ourselves and running and jumping and fully enjoying the freedom and a stay outside in the nature and the closeness of river where they can jump and refreshing themselves.

It´s our everyday ritual. Almost every day is the same and nevertheless is different. Different so as say a saying "nobody you cannot step again into the same river" so we cannot step into the same reality.
All around us is in a motion, all in us is in motion and the life run every day more and more quickly.

Enough of complaining my friends! Today is  Sunday.
Great, sunny , summer Sunday !
So enjoy it and be happy, and to be thankful to life!
Hugs to all!

Freedom is not free

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze
A young Marine saluted it, and then
He stood at ease.

I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.

I thought, how many men like him
Had fallen through the years?
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?

How many Pilots' planes shot down?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, Freedom is not free.

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.

I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen"
When a flag had draped a coffin
of a brother or a friend.

I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.

I thought about a graveyard
at the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, Freedom isn't free!!
